It's The Little Things

Monday was such a pretty day here in SC that we packed up and headed to the zoo! Grace is beyond happy to do ANYTHING outside! Especially when it was as pretty as it has been in literally months!

She is getting to be such a big girl she wasn't even happy in the stroller very long. (She is growing too fast)

At first she was a little hesitate to feed the goat, but once she did she was so proud of herself! I love seeing her grow and learn. Even though it makes me sad at the same time.

I wish we could have more days like this all the time!

Weekend & Fence Update

We bought our home just shy of 2 years ago. There were a lot of things on our list of things we needed to add, change and redo. One of the top items to add was a fence.

The main reason was for our first baby, Addis.

This is the first house that we have lived in that did not have a fence. She really was pretty good at staying around, but lately she has been running off. She always comes back, but I am not sure where she goes and it worries me to death. (remember she still is my fur baby)

For an added bonus it gives Grace boundaries and makes me a lot more comfortable to leave her playing outside by herself so I can run inside and use the bathroom now and again.

So needless to say, we NEED a fence! Initially I thought a white picket fence would look so sweet, but have you ever priced them!!! They are ridiculously expensive, so my next option was a slit rail fence. It will look good (hopefully) and blend into the background.

As I have told you before, my husband is amazingly handy! He is putting in the fence for us.

As you can see we are still in the preliminary stages, but prepping is most of the battle!

After working hard Friday and Saturday, we deserved a break and some much needed family time! We jumped in the car and headed to go for a hike. Nothing makes us feel better and get back on track than a good long hike.

Grace loves being outside, so you know she LOVES going hiking and hanging out with her daddy.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend too!

Happy Birthday Callie

Today is my sister, Grace's Aunt, my brother's wife and my good friend Callie's birthday!

She is one of the sweetest, most giving, loving, likable person in this world. She is the best elementary teacher near Charlotte.

More than anything she is the sister that we were missing! I had 3 sisters for a long time but we needed Callie. She makes "the sisters" complete.

We love you and hope you have a wonderful birthday!

The Little Things

For the last 8 months I have been dreaming of buying Grace a Pottery Barn chair. My dream finally came true!

The funny thing is...

the box is more fun than the chair!

I have to say that we have one of the happiest kids ever! She can find joy in just about anything. Just a reminder to her momma that we can do without, not to stress over the little things! All we need is each other.

Have a wonderful weekend. We are installing our fence, so stay tuned to see how it turns out!

Our Little Valentines

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentines weekend full of love and sweet treats!

Our Valentines weekend was filled with a lot of love, but honestly it is hard not to love my amazing little family.

Michael and I don't do a lot for Valentines day, but he did surprise me with some beautiful tulips and a hand written card. (the absolute BEST kind)

Now Grace on the other hand was spoiled yet another holiday.

Grace's daddy brought her home a big balloon (which seriously all she EVER wanted!), her Grandmommy and Grandpa sent her a package in the mail full of chocolate and stuffed animal. I have been saving since she was 10 months old to buy her this chair. She loves to find interesting places to sit and I just knew it would be a hit.

I am absolutely overjoyed with the two loves of my life, I could not ask for more.

Snow Days

This week we had 7 inches of snow!!! We were in winter heaven!!! I love seeing snow here in the south, because it is here long enough to enjoy it, but not too long to get tired of it.

Grace could not get outside fast enough. She was running toward the door first thing!

It is so much fun to spend time with neighbors. We have the BEST neighbors! Grace loves playing with all the kids and they are so sweet with her.

They even built Grace a big snowman in her backyard. (so big they even had to have help from the dads)

Grace also has invented her own way to make a snow angel. (facedown)

We will always take a few days of playing in the snow!

Cleaning Schedule

I have had a little more time the last couple of days because we have been snowed in here in SC! We have had so much fun playing in the snow!

I wanted to post a little chart to help you with your cleaning schedule. I wrote this post a few months ago and this is a printable chart for you to use however it helps you. Whether that is taped in your kitchen or saved on your phone.

You can print it here

I hope this will make your life just a little easier!

ps. The blog is under construction so please excuse what it looks like now. There is change coming!

Family Weekend

This weekend we started with no plans. I personally love weekends with no plans because it gives promise of resting, playing and hanging with my little family. (maybe even a nap, but I try not to get my hopes up)

Saturday morning began with a trip to Lowes. If you know us, this is pretty normal. When you have a house I don't know how you can stay out of that place!

We went to Lowes because my handy husband built me a frame around my mirror in the master bathroom. Isn't it beautiful! He is the best!

(clearly mom attire- yoga pants and big t-shirt!)

While he was building and painting...

Grace and I drew chalk.

Sunday after church, it was too pretty not to be outside. So, we headed to the park to soak in some rays!

After such a great day my wonderful hubby gave me a break and took us out to dinner! (which we NEVER do!)

I hope your weekend was just as wonderful and you were able to spend time with your family!
